The Brian Lehrer Show

WNYC Studios

Brian Lehrer leads the conversation about what matters most now in local and national politics, our own communities and our lives.

In the year of alternative facts and fake news, The Brian Lehrer Show presented a historical fiction challenge. Much like the climate of the news today, the genre of historical fiction is a mixture of hard fact and artistic license. Five weeks and fifty submissions later, Christopher Bram, author of nine novels and The Art of History: Unlocking the Past in Fiction and Nonfiction (Graywolf Press, 2016), presents the winners of WNYC's Historical Fiction Challenge, Katherine Lloyd, Tisha Hamilton and Dr. Robert Marraccino. Meet our winners! From left to right: our judge, Christopher Bram with Robert Marraccino, Katherine Lloyd and Trisha Hamilton. -- Brian Lehrer Show (@BrianLehrer) March 24, 2017 A Senseless Death, A Senseless Aftermath by Tisha Hamilton Projecting by Katherine Lloyd Isles of Hope, Tears and Fear in Richmond County of New York City: Ellis and Staten Islands by Dr. Robert Marraccino.
